Hey everyone!!!
I have literally been looking forward to Wednesday since i got to the MTC... That was probably the longest, most exhausting, emotional, and spiritual week of my life and its just the beginning! On Wednesday i got to know my district and started my first "class". i got to meet my companion.....
and see where I'm staying and they pretty much just showed us the whole MTC.
On Tuesday we started role playing and had 6 hours in the classroom.. that was definitely different and really challenging because they dont really tell you how to do anything. They just teach you a little bit and tell you to do it by yourself. I've learned a tn by doing that though! So its a good thing that they are doing that. Not gunna lie I've probably cried around 8 times since i've been here (which is alot less than all of the girls in my room) because its so so so so different from everything that I've ever done. i have to be with someone 24/7 except going to the bathroom. So, you can say that is definitely a challenge for me. But,even though the MTC is challenging there are alot more happy moments then sad moments. Thursday was just more class and roleplaying.
butttt on friday I ACTUALLY GOT TO WORKOUT AND RELIEVE SO MUCH STRESS!!! My companion hates working out.. but luckily we dont have to be together during that period of time so i workout with another sister that im rooming with and its really nice. We also got papers on friday that showed us who we would be teaching monday! we teach actual investigators here so that we can get practice. it's really nice because we usually just roleplay with our teachers, so this is super nice because its kinda how it will be out in the field.
On sunday we got to walk around the temple and kinda just chillax, after the walk around the temple we had a meeting with all of the sisters in the MTC about dress and grooming. after that we had lunch and then sacrament! It was kinda weird because there were 20 people there.. and thats it haha... and also we all had to prepare talks because our branch president just picks random people to give talks... So thats exciting!! After that we went to choir and let me just say that it was AWESOMEEEE!!! our choir director is so funny and he just makes things so much fun and exciting.
Monday, we went to class, worked out AND MET OUR FIRST INVESTIGATOR!! We get 2... but we have only met one. Her name is Miranda and she goes to BYU! She's so sweet and nice and we instantly clicked which is really important. The thing about some of these investigators is some of them are members and some of them arent.. But we treat every investigator like they arent members. (Even though im like 95% sure Miranda is a member bc sometimes you just know haha) but it went so good. We commited her to prayer and she said she would read the BOM! We gave her a reading assignment so tonight we'll see if she kept it :)
TUESDAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER BESIDES PDAY!!! (which is today) On tuesdays at the MTC we have devotionals. Which is where we have someone important or awesome come speak to us. GUESS WHO CAMEEE!!! Elder Rasband!!! I was able to sing in the choir and listen to an apostle how flippen cool is that?? He talked about how he assigns missionaries to missions and the whole process he goes through. I felt the spirit so strong while in his presence. And let me just say he is so cool and nice!! So that was definitely the highlight on my whole entire week being here at the MTC. This week was sooooo long and i miss my family and friends so incredibly much. But, there's nothing that I'd rather being doing right now then serve the lord. I have felt and experienced so many amazing things this week that i could create a novel if i wanted.. I'm not going to but you get the idea haha I cannot wait until i get to Arizona.. I'm so ready :)
Also, MTC is literally disgusting. probably the most nasty food I've ever had :) SO MOM THANK YOU FOR SENDING ME ALL OF THAT FOOOOOD!! At the MTC I have Pdays on wednesday but i go to AZ on tuesday so i might not be able to email until the monday after.
I love you all. the church is true. you guys are all amazing and i miss you all so incredibly much.
