Training !

Hello everyone!!

Wow, what a week! I found out last Tuesday that I am a trainer! Im
training a new missionary!!! Her name is sister Hansen and she's the
best. She is so ready and prepared and we get along so well! Im
privileged to be able to be her trainer and her companion. Last week
was just a bit stressful for everyone just because we had to go over
so many things and set up technology and get used to the schedule. We
were able to meet and contact referrals and just talk to people in the
street. I think that's one of my favorite things to do, just walk by
someone and stop and talk to them about their lives and about their
day.
We had district meeting on Friday and I gave a discussion on
"adjusting our teaching  to the needs of the investigator". I actually
loved this topic so much because I have a real testimony of it. I
taught that it's important to get to know your investigator, know what
they feel, their concerns and how they react to certain things. We are
taught to teach people and not lessons. This means that we should be
teaching to what that specific person needs to hear. I love getting to
meet new people and love them because of who they are and who they
want to become. By teaching to the investigators needs, it helps me
realize and learn how to be Christlike. It's such a great feeling when
you are trying to help someone for their sake and not for your own. I
think that's why service is so important!
Fun/awkward story of the week.... We received a referral from some
sisters in another mission for a family that was in our area. We
didn't really know anything about them, but we decided to go over and
check it out. We get to their apartment complex, knock on the door and
meet this boy who was probably around my age. We asked if his mom was
home and he said no but to come back the next day. Sister Hansen and I
come back the next day and a girl answers the door and invites us in.
We talked for a little bit, she was from Africa and she knew English
which was nice. Then their mom came into the room and I started to ask
her some questions... She just stared at me and the daughter said she
doesn't speak English. So I asked if we could share a little video. We
shared "because of him" and started to ask questions... The mom and
the daughter went back and forth talking in their native language.
Finally the girl said "my mother doesn't want to hear about your
religion, she just wants a bible that's in keelangi..... I don't think
I spelt that right haha but I was just kinda shocked..... 1. I've
never heard of that language... And 2. I don't even know if they have
that language translated for the bible..... Maybe they do but it was
crazy. So we are currently searching for a bible that is in keelangi
😂
I absolutely love my companion, she is so much fun. We are definitely
going to have a great transfer. I found out that we are going to be
able to go to the temple this Thursday with my old zone. We will go in
the morning and then have lunch at the mission home. I am so excited
for that :)
Miss and love you all. Have the best week ever!!

Transfer meeting may 25 th

Malloree has gone to 3 transfer meetings in 3 months!!

Malloree's cute new missionary Sister Hansen far left.

I done got bit

Hahahahahah. To explain my title.... So last Monday I started feeling
really REALLY sick. My head hurt so bad and my stomach hurt and I was
just like what the heck is wrong with me? Anyways.... The next morning
I looked at my leg and I saw that I had a huge bite on my leg and a
few smaller ones... It honestly just looked like a giant mosquito bite
so I just didn't worry about it too much. Then the next day it started
getting SUPER gross. It looked like a blister and.... Well I won't go
into too much detail about it because it's honestly so disgusting
haha. But if anyone wants to see a picture just ask and I'll send it
to you ;) it's repulsive. So I went to urgent care because the mission
nurse told me to, and I guess it was infected so now I'm on
antibiotics and it's almost gone!! So hurrah!! Fun week!!
It was also really sad :( my companion went home yesterday.... I'm
really excited for her though. I can't wait to hear from her and see
how she's doing!
This week consisted of a lot of goodbyes and tears because sister
Dudley had been in our area for a year!! She did a lot of great work
and I'm really sad to see her go.... Hopefully I can do as good of a
job as she did. But I'm really excited to see who my new companion is
and lead the area!! It's gunna be fun!
We are teaching a few investigators right now. We've gotten a lot of
referrals from LDS.org so we've been going around and meeting them.
It's always so fun to meet new people and hear their stories. Plus,
meeting a new friend is always and exciting thing. I love being able
to do service and care for others. Tomorrow, my district is in charge
of making food for 40 homeless men. We're making them tacos :) we also
went to a thrift store and helped them sort out all of their clothes
and merchandise. While doing that we got to talk with the workers and
they had a lot of questions about the church! It was a cool
experience.
I have a challenge for all of you..... Go borrow a mid calf skirt....
And bike.... All day... Haha it's so difficult. And sometimes it's
hard to do especially if it's windy.... :) but!! It can actually be a
lot of fun and breezy at the same time! Haha. I'm going to be biking
all summer my area, I'm excited.
Have a great week, read your scriptures and do some service. I love you all!!!

It's dark.... But look how cute this dog is!!!!

Mother's Day 2016

This week went by quick! And I'm glad it did because I was able to
skype my momma and family on Sunday :) we had zone conference this
week, that's where part of the mission gets together and hears
President Griffin and a few others speak. I think they had the other
half of the mission the day after that or something. But this
conference we had car inspections.... I learned a lot about how to do
them and about what we need to check in our cars. We then had a
discussion given by our AP's (assistant to the president) and they
talked about how to be more effective in our missionary work. After
that we heard from some other elders, and then we had lunch! After
lunch we sang to everyone who had birthdays in the last couple of
months. When we do that we have everyone sing and then people who
speak different languages sing it in that language. Cool right? So we
had Spanish, French, and a few others.... That I can't remember....
But they were still super awesome!!
This week I was able to see the blessings and opportunities that
Heavenly Father has given to my companion and I. The work in my area
consists of a lot of finding and reactivation. I love it :) so, we
were dropping by to see a less active family and we talked and shared
a message with them. Then I had the feeling that I should fill out a
card and give it to one of the kids who was playing outside. He was
dropping in on our message every once in awhile, so I thought I would
just give him a card with Jesus Christ on it. He took it and gave me a
big smile, then ran to his apartment and gave it to his mom. His mom
came out and she told us that she would like to meet with us! We met
with her on Thursday and invited her to church! You never know who's
ready to hear the gospel, or who needs someone to listen to them.
I've been thinking quite a lot about families. Maybe it's because I
was excited to talk to my family on Mother's Day, but it's a topic
that has been on my mind a lot. We are so blessed to be put into
families, Heavenly Father did this for us so that we can learn and
grow in a loving environment. What else has he given us within the
families? The ability that we have to live as a family forever. For
eternity! I knew this was an important concept but I don't think I
really realized how amazing it was until I came on my mission. (That's
happened a lot haha) we are able to be with our families for eternity!
Not just until we die. I know that I'll be able to be with my family
and those that I love for eternity and I want that for everyone else.
I have been reading a lot of the General Conference talks lately,
especially the priesthood session ones because I wasn't able to see it
live. Today I read about "eternal families" by president Eyring. In it
he talks about the Priesthood and how families can strengthen our
spiritual growth. He quotes:  "The most important of the Lord’s work
that you will ever do will be the work you do within the walls of your
own home. Home Teaching, bishopric’s work, and other Church duties are
all important, but the most important work is within the walls of your
home.”
Be kind and loving to your family. Do service for them and cherish the
time that you have with them. I miss my family and my friends more
than anything, but I know that I'm here for 18 months so that I can
teach people about eternal families. That way they can have their
chance to live together forever. I cannot stress enough how important
families are.
Read that talk by President Erying, you won't regret it :) you can
access it through the gospel library App or on Lds.org !
Love you all, have a great week!!

What the Heck it's May!

Hi everyone!

This week... Not gunna lie was super exhausting. But so much fun and
challenging at the same time :) we had a lot of finding and lessons
with people in our ward and people that we tracted into on the street.
On Wednesday we did a district service project, we weeded someone's
entire yard and then helped someone move furniture into storage! And
then we went out for ice cream afterwards! On Thursday we were
supposed to have a meeting with Elder Holland. But sadly that didn't
happen... I guess he had difficulties with his plane and he just
wasn't able to make it to see all of us. But!! We got to hear from
Elder Lynn G. Robbins he's the president of the Quorum of the 70! I
guess a lot of people were disappointed they couldn't hear from elder
holland, but I thought elder Robbins discussion was so good!! We heard
him talk for 3 1/2 hours, and I learned so much in that amount of
time. He talked a lot about forgiveness and why it's so important to
forgive and love everyone. He said " when we are unable to forgive
others we separate ourselves from God. Heavenly Father forgives ALL of
his children" just think of how many times you have been unforgiving.
I know I have sometimes and I felt awful about it. Heavenly Father
loves all of his children and we need to forgive everyone, whether
it's someone who did something to you or its you needing to forgive
yourself. I loved that he talked about that because I feel like many
struggle with that, and we need to not only be loving to others but to
ourselves. You can choose to love.
On Friday we had sister special edition training. So, all of the
sisters in the mission got together for a session at the temple. Right
before we were able to hear from the president of the Phoenix AZ
temple and then after our session we heard from his wife. The Phoenix
temple is beautiful! It was my first time going to that temple, and I
loved every minute of it. I was able to see my old MTC companions and
see and meet all of the other sisters! I love them all!! After the
temple we had dinner and then a short meeting with sister griffin. She
is truly amazing and she helps all of us so much. One thing she said
was "Love yourself the way Heavenly Father loves you". We are all
children of our Heavenly Father and he loves us. :)
I love you all, have a great week!!

Uplifting Week

I found some pictures on the APM blog this week. The Mission was blessed with a visit from Elder Holland. So they all met for a meeting. The the Sister Missionaries were able to spend the night in the Valley so they could have a Sisters meeting and all attend the Phoenix Temple together.  I have seen a couple members post about that Temple visit in the FB page from the Arizona Missions. What a great sight and spirit was felt as all 44 APM Sisters were in the Temple together.
